Snipe Servo choices for 1s setup

purchasing a snipe and planning on running a 1s lipo setup.

Looking for servo recommendations for it that are solid on 1s setups.

So far I am leaning towards JR 285's for all 4.

Your recommendations are appreciated.

That will work fine. I'm running 285s on flaperons, and 188s on the tail but 4 x 285 is a solid choice.

Airtronics 94802 for flaperons and JR 285 for the tail. Ive used this combo many times with great success.

Servos

The MKS 65 servos will - if you take the tabs off - will nicely overlap and give you great move forward weight, and shorten the length of the "stack". Also they are very light. And the new Gold labels seem to be good. The Snipe seems to have been made for this servo.
The 188s are faster on 1S but wiggle, and loosen up, especially if you use them on the Flaperons. The pull string / spring helps for a while on the Elev and Rud.

will the MKS run on 1s, also what glue will hold aluminum to carbon well? ( if i were to go MKS what would you use to glue them down?)

Goop.

I texture the servo case and wipe the carbon with alcohol.
Then Goop the servos into place.
If, for whatever reason, you need to remove a servo you can just peel it up.

The only down side is that you need to wait a few hours for the Goop to cure.

I've built Snipes with the JR DS285/188 combo and they fit and work great. No issues. But with the lighter tails coming out of Ukraine, I built my last one with MKS 65k servos and really like them. They are a bit lighter (which helps with CG) and thinner (which helps with positioning wires). MKS servos are very quick on 1S.

I saw that there were some issues with the MKS65k and they were recalled. has that issue been resolved?

what did you use to cut the tabs off? dremel and a wheel?

I don't have a Snipe, but I am really impressed with the DS75K on one cell. They sell a version without the tabs so you don't have to worry about cutting. They don't nest like the 65k, but they are designed specifically to work on 1S and are significantly faster than the 65k. If I remember correctly, they are less than a gram heavier than the 65k. If you absolutely can't tolerate the extra 4 grams, then the 65K's would be a decent choice. Personally I would choose the speed of the 75k over the lower weight of the 65k.

PS the 65K issue has been resolved. The new version has a gold label.

So then the big question is, is it worth basically double the price of the JR servos to go with the MKS??

All the futabas work fine on 1S, S3156, S3154, and S3114. I have them in my snipe.
