Bill's Hill is closed!
It appears to have sold and the new owners are going to move forward with the dump! Oh, pardone me! The LANDFILL! We showed up today and it was gated with cement barriers.
We could have driven around the barriers but that would be a bad first impression for sure. Well it's going to be shut down for sure but I'm going to follow up and see if they wouldn't mind a couple of sets of eyes out there making sure it's all safe until the inevitable shut down.
That's all I know now!

They did not ask Bill Hill permission to add a gate......
This is an article that explains some of the landfill plans and issues.
The water shed goes from Pala past Bonsal to Oceanside so there is a lot of pressure to stop this land fill. I also read some where the Pala Indians are also against this landfill, sacred ground, truck traffic affecting casino patrons etc. There is also a water supply pipe running directly under Bill Hill to San Diego and I for one would not like a landfill over my drinking supply.
Who knows who will win. There are names and companies listed in the article above.
Too bad the new owners are not DSers.
This sucks big time.
