There is a spot north of torrey pines but south of del mar thats good on a west or sw wind. Its right where carmel valley road hits PCH.

got to pay for parking.

Carlsbad by PCH and Palomar Airport Road is where I usually go but last week there was signs for contstruction on the last part of the bluff open so I dont know if its open still.

Naw.
GWS only has a couple hours of flight time this year and I'll have a house full of family most of the weekend. Couple that with needing to get some building done and it spells staying close to the home 40.

Yep, Carlsbad is fine but there ARE plenty of tourists to dodge... as well as newbies, and psychotic combat winger's waiting in the shadows to kill your high performance plane...

That's for sure. Last time I flew (mon) I had like 6 head on midairs with combat wings and my halfpipe.

Anyone fly off of La Jolla Farms Road? About a mile south of Torry.

How old is this pic?
That flat area looks good for landings.
I may try to find out this week end.

One mile just isn't enough distance to avoid interferance--I wouldn't reccommend flying there. Imagine a multi-thousand-dollar scale ship getting hit over at torrey, with spectators, paragliders, etc. at risk. Not worth it!

I thought the only spread spectrum radios were for ground pounders. I've been waiting for a SS aircraft radio but I haven't seen one yet.
