The model engine as it is, about 2.2 oz. I've been planning to grind some of it away, once the cowl halves are joined. Probably won't be much though, it'll be the better part of 2 oz. when it's done.

The engine is wonderful but the burnished aluminum is spectacular.
I am slack-jawed with amazement, especially when looking at the pictues in your post 142

Just have the exhaust pipes to install...

The full scale has a bulge on each side of the cowl in front of the cylinders, that house the magnetos. I never noticed them before scrutinizing photos from the Smithsonian. So we opted them out, it would've been a trick to get the aluminum skin over those and have them look good.

Was able to grind away a third of an oz. from the crankcase of the WB model motor.
