I member of our club did it about 8 years ago. He used a Astro 40 FAI on 18 cells. Flew it in a Midwest Jetster. Nice flier!

Bob, I wonder if this was the same person I saw in Las Vegas at an Efly there in '97? This guy had an 8 lb. Jetster with the RK-20 fan powered by an Astro FAI 25 and 24 cells. I thought that motor was a bit small for 25 cells but that's what he claimed. This thing really hauled a**. The ROG's were great with a 45 deg. climbout angle and quite a long flight. I got to talking with him and asking how many amps it pulled, he had never checked. I just happened to have my amp meter with me and you should have seen the looks on his face when it read 52 amps static! He didn't believe it so we checked again, same thing. Anyway, that was the first really fast EDF I had seen with ROG and taxi back power to spare.
