Do you know the angle of deflection for the flaps? With my DX6, I can set two levels of flap deflection.

Thanks,

Put in all you can get - either contacting the structure or running out of servo throw. I have mine set up so they stop when touch the wing structure.

I also have 10% elevator mixed in to prevent the ballooning and it seems to do fine. Just let the plane slow down before deploying flaps and you'll very little if any ballooning. Deploy at high speed and you probably will see some.

Thank you. I made the suggested changes and will fly again Mon or Tues.

I'm surprised at how well this thing flies given its weight.

I don't know of any videos showing the flap install, but it isn't difficult. Just remember that both servo arms will be pointed in the same direction (unlike the ailerons which are opposite each other) and make sure the servos move in the right direction when you actuate the flap switch. As was stated above, you want as much deflection as you can get without binding the servo. Use a razor saw to cut the plastic pins that lock the flaps up.
You stated that you are a beginner. Unless you are already comfortable flying the plane, you might want to wait on the flap install as this might be an unwelcome distraction when you are trying to land. What radio are you using?
