Replacement retract question
I see that most of the replacement retracts come with a straight strut wire as opposed to the stock retracts that normally have the bend so that the wheels slide on.
Take for instance these...
are these made straight so that you bend them yourself to get the proper height? If so, how in the heck do you get the bend correct?

There are a couple of solutions.
These bolt on Axles will work. Many versions and brands are available. Just order a set that will fit your gear legs. A visit to the local hobby shop would be the quick fix.
Measure and bend the gear leg. Make sure you bend in the correct direction based on the upper flat for the screw that secures the leg.
You can also make your own axles using brass stock and some music wire.
