The HK branded ESCs are SUPPO esc's...

The heli ones are blue and love them for 70mm cause of the slow spool up start...

The other ones have a brownish label on them...there's also a 60 amp one that is rated to 8s on it's specs

I have HK ESC's in all my jets.
The 90A in my F-100 is going on three years old without a hitch.

Also have two of the 190A running solid on 6s.
Smoked one when I roast the motor, but I guess that is expected.

Not sure, but HiFei appears to be the manufacturer.

http://www.hifei.com/product.asp?mid=7

The king kong labeled series have data logging where as the G series do not.
However neither Banana hobby nor Quantom hobby's ZTZ ESC's seem to match the manufacturer's discription.

I've had very good luck also with the RC Timer series of ESCs, although I've never used one in an EDF application.

Hobbywing Pentium - sold under other names / brands?

Hobby wings are the next step up after SUPPOs and then there's the ZTW which are sold by bananhobby for almost half the price everyone else sells for.
Where can you buy these Hobbywing ESCs? HK stands for Hong Kong or Hobbyking? If Hobbyking,
it's the Turnigy plush series? I am writing this because I am a bit confused, my Turnigy Plush 40A ESC
gets pretty warm even w/ less than 40A with a high-rpm 6-pole outrunner (known to give ESCs a hard
time, but if it's a Hobbywing, it shouldn't, or?)
thanks!
cheers
