Question about batteries and range

I'm looking to increase my flight time. I already have the radio system for it (DragonLink) and now I'm working on the power system.

It has been my understanding that as long as the C rating on batteries are the same, you can use any size (in terms of mAH) that you would like.

Ex: If a plane requires a (theoretical) battery of 1800mAh with a 20C rating, I could use a (theoretical) 3600mAH battery with a 20C rating and have a longer flight time.

Am I understanding this correctly? I've been told the "C" means circuit and refers to the amount of power flowing into the system from the battery.

Use the 3600mah cells, they'll last longer. Do not mix different capacity cells!! Or different voltages!

The C rating tells about the battery discharging ability.
It is also in relation to the battery size in mAh. 1800mA : 20C x1.8A= 36A discharge current max.

Theoretically with 3600mAh you would need only 10C to sustain same max
discharge current (36A).
