F450 kit vs DJI PHantom 2

Hey all, I am on the fence here and looking for a little advice. I owner a Phantom v1 a while back but sold it when I needed the $ and am now In the market for another copter.

When ebay had there ebay bucks deal I picked up the Phantom 2 for $679 with $95 back in ebay bucks.

Well since then (Phantom is still in the mail) I think I have switched my interest to a f450 naza v2 kit off ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/DJI-F450-ARF...item540a117c2b

I was wondering if anyone knew the level of difficulty to put on of these kits together, I am handy and can solder and follow directions well but if there is a good chance when it is all said and done It would fly a little "off" I would rather pay the extra for a fully assempled one.

So my question i guess is would you reccomend the Phantom 2 or the f450 (got this ebay gimbal http://www.ebay.com/itm/301174119480...84.m1439.l2649 already too.

If you recommend the F450 do you think I could handle the kit with out too much trouble or should i just get a used or fully assembled one.

Thanks alot,

Tyler Hegamyer

The 450 is very easy to build.
I did a video on the entire process, the build and also including setup in the Naza assistant software.
DJI F 450 with E300 Tuned Propulsion System STEP BY STEP COMPLETE BUILD. (33 min 3 sec)

But just so you know you would be good with a Phantom2 also. I have a couple and I love them.

Both the 450 and the Phantom2 are good choices.

Look at his post history and you can see he is spamming his forum in hope to gain users.

As for OP you really cannot go wrong with either. If you want something that works out of the box and easy to transport than go for the phantom.

Can use the zenmuse on both which is HUGE aand the flight time on the P2 is nice. Not sure what others are getting on the 450.

Ive been doing alot of research since I made this thread yesterday and I think Im going to end up selling/returning the phantom 2 (it arrives tomorrow) and ordering the

F450 ARF Kit with Naza-M 2 for $489.

I prematurly ordered this 3 -Axis gimbal from goodlucksell for $150.

(http://www.ebay.com/itm/301174119480...84.m1439.l2649) a lot of people seemed to indicate it operated well.)

-I picked up a Turnigy 9xr Radio for $75.

-With a FrSky DF Module & RX $53.

- ATG Carbon Fiber Anti Vibration Landing Gear $39

-Going to get some 4s Lipos (2-3x 2200mAh 4s Lipos cause they are cheap and 1 6000+ mAh 4s Lipo for longer flights. I will also get a small 500mah 3s lipo to power the gimbal and any accessories)

-As for the Camera, I had planned to get the GoPro Hero3 Black Edition but I have not been that impressed with the video it produces and have been considering going with the Sony Nex-5R that prices in used on ebay around $250. I have seen a couple videos that looked very good using that camera, it is alot of weight though, and I would need a new gimbal. To be honest I was not very impressed with the video quality of either but short of doubling my quad budget (again) to a unit that could hold a DLSR I think the Sony Nex-5R might be my best option.

I would move to 8-8.5 inch carbon fiber props if using the 4s batteries.

Anyone have any recommendations?!
