Very nice project Rolf!

I am goiing to user these ESCs for my Rover Project:
http://der-frickler.net/modellbau/cars/rover_4x4

By the way, is there any kind of break implemented in your code?
some specials ESCs for Crawlers have some kind of Hand-Break which causes the motors to block when the stick is in center. That would be a really nice feature.
Does anyone has an idea how that is implemented?

By the way, small and cheap Brushless ESCs are great soure for controlling the Lights on your Plane or whatever ;_)

So, someone please correct me if I am wrong.
I have a spare one of these. HK F-30A
I got 5 for my quad in case I bricked one while flashing to simonk.
I can use this firmware using the same method I used to flash the others to simonk.
I will end up with an ESC that will control a brushed motor and has reverse?
If so, which wires do I use to connect to the motor, trial and error?

Also, could I use this from a 4s battery to run LED strips rated at 12v by changing limits in my tx?
I know its overkill but it's lighter than a 2 or 3s battery and a reciever controlled switch and I have one so I don't have to buy anything.

I don't really know about the firmware but I doubt the "Switched" output would be "dim-able".

I would measure the current draw of the lightest at 12v or consult the datasheets for it. Argument sake the array takes 600mAh at 12v and try the array calculator with your specs but treat the array as a single LED with no resistors...

Ok you can't get a 1.7watt resistor so something like two 1W 10 ohm in paralllel if you can't get a 2w or maybe a 12v regulator.

I would like to try this on an AfroESC. I know what mods I need to make but what do I use to make the source code changes and then compile it. I have tried Studio 6.2 but it throws lots of errors so I must have something very wrong.

Can anyone tell me the difference between http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~brushed...ed/trunk/files
and KapteinUK software in this thread?

Peter

What errors are you getting?

They are quite different. Rolf's code is written in assembler, and uses macros to handle the ESC specific stuff.
