Hangar 9 Extra Easy ARF
Anyone here have experience/comments with this package(If it's not good...to
late I already own it!)? I've recently purchased it and am anxiously
awaiting spring to start beginner's classes with a local club. I haven't
bought fuel for it yet, not sure if I should attempt to break in the engine
on my own, or wait for some assistance. I am also wondering if anyone would
know what size of fuel tank it has and how long i can expect to be up in the
air before refueling.

It's a perfectly fine package. Two summers ago, we had a big influx of
new students, and most of them had this particular package. The engine
can be a little finicky at first, but that's why you take it to
experts and have them teach you how to deal with it. Hopefully you are
joining a fairly open-minded club like mine. We'll bend over backwards
to make your engine run right if we have to. Some clubs can't be
bothered, and will tell you that you have to buy a $100 OS engine in
order to fly. The joke's on them, because we have just as many problem
OS engines as any other brand.
Anyway, pick up a gallon of fuel, and look up "Matt's Foolproof Engine
Starting Technique" on http://groups.google.com. After it's running,
slowly turn the low-speed needle valve anticlockwise until the engine
begins to blubber. Turn the needle slowly clockwise now, until the
engine just begins to run smoothy. Leave it there, and run a few tanks
of fuel through it, letting it cool between runs. You can play with
the needle valve a little, while the engine is running of course,
after the first tank has been run through, just to see what it does.
If you cause the engine to quit, let it cool off, then start it again.
The tank is 10oz I believe, and is enough fuel for 15+ minutes of
