Dynamic Foamy EPP Micro Yak 55

Does anyone have this?

I am thinking about getting one of these, and I would appreciate some feedback!

Thanks!

Neither of those look like the same plane.

The plane I was asking about:

This plane looks much different.

I used search twice before I started this thread, but found nothing.

Just replied in the micro-rtf section.

Was surprised not many seem to have this. Thought many will like to reuse some of the micro planes electronics, esp since umx beast is so popular.

I got one:-). I love it! I used guts from the UMX Sbach. The non-as3x one. I like flying it best with 180mah packs cus they're light but 200mah works well too. The laser cutting leaves the edges a bit rough but spend a few minutes with a straight edge and razor and you're good. You only need to straighten the hinge edges anyway.

It flies pretty doggone good for a little guy:-). I can hover it and do some nice slow high alpha stuff and knife edge... Tons of fun! And durable too. Some FoamTac glue is awesome for building and repairing, but I've made minimal repairs, because it's so light.

I'm gonna get another for my as3x Beast guts but I was waiting to see if they'd come out with any other 3d designs. If not, no biggie. I love the yak 55 ;-)

Just finished the weekend testing out this plane with the nanotech 180 batteries. It flies much better with 180 compared with the 260 batteries. I think with the 120 battery, it will be even better but unfortunately these batteries are currently out of stock.

It flies slower than CYM, but not as slow as the AS3Xtra. Pretty happy with it so far as i was worried initially that it was not powerful enough to do hovering n such. It can also fly in more limited space compared with CYM.

This is my go to plane now where space is limited. For larger areas, CYM is still the best.

CYM? Not familiar with that. Little help?

Yeah the as3xtra looks sweet but it reminds me of the ultra micro 4-site I had. Flew real sweet and slow but was under powered and extremely fragile. I much prefer EPP cus I crash too much! Lol

Dynamic Foamy EPP Micro Yak 55

Ah! Gotcha. That one looks like a sweet, precise 3d plane. I'd like to have one, maybe for next indoor season. But for now, the Dynamic EPP Yak is good fun at a lower cost. I even put the landing gear on, and enjoy touch and go's on my picnic table :-)

Looks like this kit may not be available any more :-(

Dynamic wasn't at the indoor fest this year so I went to their website and I ordered another epp yak. I got an email from them offering me a discount because this was their last kit in stock and it had a flaw in the printing. They were very generous with the discount for the minor cosmetic flaw. However, they mentioned that it's uncertain weather they would continue producing this kit, so I may have gotten the last one :-(

Hopefully they'll continue it but if there's no demand, I can't blame them if they don't.

Those that have one, enjoy it and try to keep it in one piece;-)
