Sorry for the thread necromancy, but I just came across this excellent example of scratch-built goodness. I read through the entire thread, and view EPP in a new light, thanks to you Chambo88.

I do have a question, or maybe rather a clarification. It seems you hollow-out the fuse and nacelles and then glue everything together AFTER shaping. How do you keep all the layers connected during the shaping steps, if they aren't glued together?

I'm looking forward to trying this build myself, as I have several sheets of EPP laying around begging to be built into a plane now.

Thanks,
Don

Hi Don. Happy to help i just use hot glue to hold the sheets together while shaping. You just need a tack of hot glue in a few well placed areas and it will hold the sheets together while you shape it. That way you will still be able to get the sheets apart later on to install all the gear.

Good luck with the build! Lets see some pics when your done too!!

Ah, makes sense, thanks for the reply. Now I just need to get ahold of some EPP. I have a bunch of Depron, but at 6mm it may take quite a few layers. I may try thicker insulation board (pink board), as I have a bunch of that.

Thanks,
Don
