Not a DIY Scratchbuild! But a build nonetheless.
So my DIY frames were too heavy. And I had initially set aside $60 for a gimbal, so when I found a FPV Spider frame with built in gimbal for $60, i couldn't say no. Plus a buddy of mine is flying this frame and after I saw it in the air I was sold!
Before I start with a horde of photo's, I would like to thank the following:
Witespy & his MultiWii 2.0 Pro w/GPS combo
ValueHobby.com for their quick shipping!
SimonK For his ESC firmware,
Double Sided Duct Tape,
RCGroups.com for not banning me, even though I got awfully close.
And last but not least... DJI for giving me the drive & determination to achieve RTH, Position Hold & more for less than I paid for my Transmitter
motors: Hextronic DT-750 from hobbyking (750kv)
esc's: 30amp RCTimer special's... flashed with SimonK firmware
props: 10x4.5 GemFan Nylon props
battery: 2650mah 4s 30-50c - 70c burst
flight controller: witespy's MWC 2.0 Pro & uBlox GPS combo
reciever: FrSky D8R-II+ with Voltage Sensor
transmitter: Turnigy 9X with ER9X firmware & FrSky DJT Telemetry Module & LCD screen.
So without further ado... let me introduce my newest build for FPV & aerial videography.
Lets open her up & see whats inside!
Freshly cooled solder & heat shrink!
Top Plate & Arms:
As you can see there is barely enough room. With the frame assembled, everything finds its place and even though it looks like a mess... its a coordinated mess!
Gratuitous Close-Up shots:
DT750 at its finest
I have MegaPirateNG 2.8R3 installed on the flight controller. I enabled gimbal support and everything is testing 100% right now. I have some test video of the gimbal working. I might edit that later, but it is late and I am going to bed.
Tomorrow I will maiden this baby. Then the adventure in P I D tuning starts!

Got it used on the RCG classifieds here.

No i got sick of the gimbals poor performance. There is too much weight riding on the roll servo, so the assembly tends to bounce around. Plus my servo's are cheap and i was getting fed up with them. The camera is hard-mounted... i'll have some pix of the changes I made soon.
ESCs: SimonK flashed 30amp
I am flying with both 4s & 3s batteries. I find the 3s batteries give me smoother video and the craft is alittle more "tame". With the 4s battery this thing is a monster.
I flew with 11" props today and i had a TON of vibration. So I am waiting to get my hands on a prop balancer. I am still trying to get the motors perfectly balanced too, but now I just found that my prop adapters are causing some vibrations.

My experience regarding vibrations is that smaller props and higher speed is always better. Much easier to get rid of vibrations with 9" props on 4S compared to 10" props on 3S.
Graupner 9" gives me absolutely no jello, but they're expensive and deadly. So for cheaper and softer props I have very good experience with GWS three blade 9x5x3. They need serious balancing, but when that's done they are very nice.
This is 880KV iPower Motors on 4S with GWS 9x5x3 and Sony RX100. No stabilisation in post, only in camera stabilisation:

Are you using value hobby prop adapters? I had a few that caused bad vibrations, and were much larger than they needed to be.
