This worked! My HT8 is inside a 9x style TX module so I had to take it apart but cycling the modes fixed the range issue. This should go in the FAQ.

Now to replace all the parts I broke from losing control at range.

HT8 is the HiSky RF module / radio adapter that is plugged into a good mainstream transmitter to enable it to control HiSky models such as the V922 / FBL100/HCP100
