What was the tally/total price you spent to make that foam board FPV plane? That is a tough one to answer but if you were to add up materials, glue and tape it's probably no more than about $20.00 in the airframe. I have way more time in it than cash. I used 5 sheets of Dollar Tree foam board that cost $1 each, some colored packing tape from tapebrothers.com, hot glue, gorilla glue and colored duct tape from Walmart.

Looks soo stable!

just a few questions if you have the answers since you just maiden'd it!
1. flight times (Lipos used? 3s or 4s?) I'm using 3300mah 4s / estimated flight times around 20 minutes
2. cruise amps I don't know for sure as I have no OSD onboard but I would guess about 10 to 15 amps and 35 amps at full throttle
3. Where did you get the foam boards? The foam board is from Dollar Tree store $1 each 20"x30" 5 sheets for this build
4. CoG? Best CG should be from 20 to 25%, mine is at about 24%. After the first flight I am going to adjust it to 20% and see how it does. Optimum for this airplane may be at 23%. That's percentage of the wing chord. My chord is 9.5 inches and my starting CG is 2.25" from the leading edge.

I like these types of planes, the tractor style with prop behind camera is great!
....plus tractor is more powerful and effecient.

I like your plane and its similar to this plane coming out.... Thank you!

That's a neat looking airplane but mine is not as pretty. Mine is also just a little cheaper to make. I got most of my ideas and building techniques from Ed at experimental airlines on Youtube. Here is a link to his page. He has mastered economical foam board building and has a gold mine in build videos and information posted for all of us to use. He couldn't be a nicer guy and he is very generous sharing his ideas. He is a true asset to this hobby.

A friend of mine was going to write a review on that plane... could not get anything to work right or fly right- I think he might have turned it down until they could improve the product...

Nice! Really like how you're thinking outside the box. One question if you don't mind, what type of cable have you used for the video connection? Looks like a USB cable.

Not fully FPV but with HoryzonHD camera mounted on tail, this was a mix from Experimental Airlines Photon design and a Polaris Tail for the camera. Unfortunately it only lasted one flight. Im not sure if the CG was off or it was the 15-20Mph winds that spun the airplane to the ground.

Here's my FPV build, it's working very well so far great flight times 20 minutes + full throttle, over 25 when just cruising around. Just embedded the electronics and took off as much weight as I could from the airframe, so now it should be a little bit more efficient. Just need a microSD card for the keychain cam and then I'll get some video. For now, all I have is the video from 2.4 GHz 10mw.

Here is my late Mini Pulse XT complete with eagletree OSD/GPS/Return to Home. Unfortunately one day I flew too low, lost video signal, and she went into the drink. R.I.P

Sorry for your loss... One question though, why do you have an inverter from your car to get 120v AC and then convert it back to low voltage for your Video RX Most Video RX's are already running on 12v... Just another piece of equipment that can fail. I try to use the KISS method and use as little equipment as possible.

I figured you use the inverter for the laptop as well though.

Agreed.
Use the inverter for the laptop and you just need 12v direct for the receiver.

Thanks chanyote66,

It was because I'm lazy and the netbook also ran off the inverter.

I'll probably be putting FPV on a Sniper Pushy Cat in the future for some fast-paced flying.

Does anyone have a High effeciency Home built aircraft? Im looking for probably a tractor style, Inrunner powered, minimal body.... Im wanting to exceed 1+ hours of flight without going above 2x 2650mah 4s batteries...

My latest wing may get close but I wanted to see what others have done...
