FUNJET, what is the fastest setup possible ???

What is the fasted motor and ESC that I can run on 4s, 5s, 6s batteries ?
I want firm and specific motors and ESCs and possibly links to the motors ?
I wanna go beyond 160mph

The kero burner is hard to beat speaking performance, lands like a 4S setup and has the speed of a 8S setup However most find it a bit pricey and it's not what asked for here, still I think it's worth to look at.

Well, to go beyond 160mph, you dont need anything special, its easy with a descent 5s setup,, like a Mega motor or even a Typhoon motor..

Fastest? well thats a hard one, but if you want FAST on 6s lipo ? you have to go 36mm motor, a big one, bigger propps like 6.5 or 7", maybee like 150-200 amps on 6s will take you very far IF the motor, battery and esc can take it..

I am right about starting building my second Ultra with 6s and this motor:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=19110

And a cheep KH 190/200A esc

I think it will take my pretty high in speed... and cheep

But your question is the FASTEST ? dont think anyone could say what the fastest is, when the speed starts to get near 190-200mph I think its very important to finetune the funjet to get is stable, even if the setup can push the plane at those speeds, you still have tuning to do to be able to fly that fast..

180mph, you can do, pretty cheap also, but 200mph(real speed), naaa, to much to lose to get that extra speed..

Great information guys, so by fastest I probably meant about 180 MPH, that should be enough for me without going into those turbine. I currently have Turnigy 3648 1450KV on a 5s setup and I think I hit above 140 MPH, no radar gun yet !

What prop are you using? With a 7x6APC sport and throttle control and some fine tuning I have already flown >160 on 6S.
The problem with cheap systhems is the weight.
The heavyer the funjet, the harder it will be to launch it.
I use an expensive but light motor and esc just for easy launching.
With a Kontronik minipyro on 6S and a 7x8APC sport I reached 186mph average in horizontal flight.
Static current ~150A! This is borderline for the 2650 45C batt's.

If doing some calculations from known numbers you get that 180mph needs about 2500watts input. 190mph needs about 3200watts

Seems 2200 watts will go 200mph.

325km/h? With a 6x6 prop, no way!
The prop tips should have been supersonic at that speed! Especially with these low temp's.
It was not nearly loud anough!

Well, its not my funjet, the guy measured with his equipment..

There is another guy here:
Funjet Ultra 349 Km/h GPS ! for 300 $ (5 min 6 sec)

(this video is the first setup he did try, only 300km/h)

Later he is claiming 323km/h with a 6x6 propp, and 349km/h with a 6.6x6.5 propp

more info:
http://www.dauch.fr/

klick on the link : Reportage: Funket Ultra Multiplex

One did measure with pitot tube the other with GPS..

I am looking into Turnigy SK3 Fandrive - 3659-1900kv, so how was your experience with this motor ? how fast could you go with with size prop ?
it would be great if you can tell me how many amps and watts
thanks
