+1 I love my stryker. If they are bringing a new version out I hope they will stiffen the elevons and have some propper hinges installed, they know this is a popular airframe to mod out to some silly speeds but its just such a mess about to stiffen everything up to handle the extra speed.

I agree. Make a Carbon-Z version or something. Stiffer airframe and Scimitar style hinged elevons. A larger battery comparment and inrunner compatable motor mount would be great as well.

You can use an in-runner motor on the Q, you just need the mount holes on the back side.

Just lost my 2nd F-27Q with identical symptoms - total signal loss. Launch OK, make one lap, throttle back to make a turn onto the downwind leg then it dies - and goes THUNK!

When I walked out through 3' corn field to retrieve the last one I was moving the sticks to listen to it. Nothing. Found it, picked it up and still nothing. Then the servos started to whine and I could move the controls and went to full throttle - which it held. Pack still measured 11.9V

Can you fly stryker f27q on 4s stock?

HH says esc can handle it but motor designed for 3s.

Anybody have a long lived motor on 4s stock setup?

What if you just go easy and limit high speed passes?

Anybody have stock temp of motor and esc on 3s?

Thanks

No you can't fly stock plus 4s. I think you do need bigger ESC and body needs to be strengthened.

I do 4s on mine, I have a 60A ESC from the original habu, which is a direct fit. No other mods required.

I fly mine on 4s with an 80amp turnigy plush and dont hold back with the throttle, the stock esc cant handle 4s as it pulls around 65amp WOT. been flying on this setup for about a year and the motor is still strong. You might want to reinforce the fuse with carbon rods and something to stiffen the elevons tho and, also look at some better servos as at full speed on 4s it will cause control loss.

I lost mine in a cornfield last night. Anyone know where I can pick another one up?

So sad because it was one of my favorites.

They don't make 'em any more. But if you are going to fly over corn fields, get one of these:

I lost a (white) plane flying fpv in 2 feet of snow. Made it much easier to find.

Ha! Looks like our field!

Glad you found it. I have a friend with fpv quad. He's going to do a search but I'm not confident it can be seen from the air. I do have a feeling where it might be but can't get out to do another search till Saturday.
