He mentions and I'd agree, a HK servo tester ~$5, is so handy. You can centre the servo for putting on the arm, cycle the arms continuously and move the arms for checking, all without needing to fire up the Tx.

Just thought I would share a couple of vids shot from the Bix v1 and v2 on the weekend. I am down a pan and tilt servo from the crash but that was all the damage. The punishment the Bixler can take is just amazing.

The hinges do not need screws, rough up the plastic and epoxy them in.

I think the Control horns you bought are not for foam airplanes. They would work if you glued some plywood to the foam for screws to grab but you really need ones like these. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...2_10sets_.html . Pay attention to the hole size, your push rods should fit without much slop.

Now he tells me! Well, I have to make what I bought work -- I'm not waiting 2 more weeks to get new horns. I got some screws tonight that will work. There is a plastic piece for the other side of the wing that the screws go into. The foam is sandwiched in between them. I think it should work OK.

Ever since I discovered these hinges, I install on all planes. Never will I use/rely on the foam hinge anymore.

That is a pretty long list of things that I didn't have any problem with at all. But I started with the Sky Surfer kit and built it myself. If this was a Bixler RTF I can understand where there might be problems. I have never seen a hinge tear off like that, but on my MiniMoa at least one of the ailerons had started to unzip from an end, right out of the box. I painted on some canopy glue and have never had a problem with them since, and have flown it plenty. Canopy glue is very strong and flexible.

Had no problems with mine except the motor sounded S--T from the get go so I upgraded the motor and mount. Tape is standard on foam belly landers especially if the ground is rough.
I always inspect the hinges every flight and have not had problems but if they show any tearing they all get replaced. Standard with all foam aircraft with skin hinges.

Or simple high grade packing tape. They use the 3M storage tape on 175 mph Rite Wings.

There is Moving & Storage and there is Storage tape for Boats....which on are you referring to? Do you have a link?
