Phantom 2 + H3-3D What are your real world flight times?

After building QAV400s and TBS Discoverys, Im looking at picking up a Phantom 2 with the 3 axis gimbal and doing some long range videography. Ive seen them advertised as having 25 minute flight times, which frankly, is going to require very large props and a huge battery to achieve with an other multirotor and gimbal....

So my question is, are any of you guys getting the advertised 25 minutes with the gimbal, and if not, what are your flight times?

Thanks for the help!

Not even close to 25 with the gimbal. I believe the 25 minutes they are referring to is without any camera attached.

From my experience I get about 12-14 minutes flight time if I want to land with around 30% left in the battery.

I just did a shoot with a pro wakeboarer and was traveling at 22MPH the whole time, because of that I only would get around 10 minutes out of the battery.

Here is my setup:
Stock P2
H3-3D
iOSD Mini
GoPro Hero3B+
ImmersionRC 600mw TX

Hmmm thats really interesting... The Phantom Vision has a 25 minute hover time, I cant see the gimbal and gopro adding that much weight over the vision...

Heck I would go with the vision, but Im not sure what would be involved using UHF and a video system with the video out....

I get about 15-16min and happy with that. 7min more than my F550 which is grounded most of the time.
Have OSDmini, new landing gear and full FPV setup.

I JUST LOVE MY LITTLE PHANTOM

So when do you land? When there's 30% left, or do you push it a bit over that?
I landed at 33% today, that gave me about 14 minutes in the air. I have the H3-3D, GoPro Hero 3 Black, iOSD mini and a Fatshark 250 mW VTX.

13 minutes to 1st level warning, mixed flying, take off weight is 1390 grams.

You guys need to weigh your aircraft-so we're comparing same to same.

I don't believe the Vision or the Vision plus can just hover for 25 minutes. Not even close. I'd like to see a 25 minute video of that.

Because-the P2, and the vision are identical. Same engines/props/batteries. I can see saving a few grams here and there w/o iosd mini, lighter camera/gimbal.
But-figure about 1 second per gram of weight, I still don't see anywhere near 25 minutes.

I have; H3-3D, GP3, iosd mini, AVL58 VTX with custom antenna, FPV hub, and anti-interference filter=1390 grams.
I could possibly get into the 14 minute range if I was just hovering into the wind-less power required..or drifting with the wind(even less power required).
But-realistically, you're flying back and fourth to get somewhere, hovering to film, or chasing something and returning.
You'll be lucky to see 15 minutes on a similarly equipped aircraft.

I also get 7 minutes on my F800(F550 with 800mm arms)-but, I'm upgrading to bigger engines, and 4S-so I hope to see flight times above 10 minutes. I'll post those results in the F550 forum.

My P2 fully equiped is 1326 g, and I get about 14 minutes (that''s at 33%, so maybe 15 minutes at 30%). How long is it safe to fly? There's a 80-20 rule for ordinary lipos, fly 80% of the full capacity and save 20%. So I guess it would be ok to land the Phantom at 20% without any harm to the battery?

I didn't believe it either, but there are videos proving it
DJI Phantom 2 Vision Battery Test -25 Minutes of Flight Time (1 min 32 sec)

Colin also flew the vision from a boat that lasted 28 minutes. Unfortunately the video has since been made private due to the litigation proceedings

27 minutes 50-odd seconds if I recall That was also running the battery down to 3%.

Still, from what I've seen, those numbers are outliers. 15 minutes is a good target for standard H3-3D + iOSD/FPV rigs, 17-18 minutes for P2V+, 20min for P2V, seem to be ballpark.

Have you guys taken into account altitude variations? Seems to me that would be the biggest difference between someone who gets 18 minutes, and someone who gets 12. If you are at sea level, you'll get much better times than someone with the same setup at 8,000 ft. Am I correct about that?

People with the X350 Pro also gets around 14-15 minutes with gimbal + camera + xmitter. A few users replaced the motors (4x $15 and ESC 4x $15), and now they get 22-27 minutes depending on circumstances. That is with their 5200 mAh battery. Most likely the same can be done with the P2.

I am a user who has owned 2 pcs P2V+ who both has issues from the factory. So flew like 8 batteries. Decided to leave DJI until they get better at what they do. The X350 Pro feels nowhere near the build quality of the DJI stuff though, and not as easy to get running. Not for the Joe Average. Just got it, put it together, and waiting for a chance to get out and fly it.
