900mhz Yagi mounting

I just received my new 10dbi yagi/900mhz from DPCAV.com . I have extended the backside of the square tubing of the yagi with a piece of aluminum angle, about 12" long, for mounting the receiver and battery. My question: Will the extra piece of aluminum angle interfere with the reception? If so, can I use a piece of wood or something instead of the aluminum angle?
Thanks, Brian

I think you look good except for your video rx looks like a not good one and will be a bad situation

the whole set up is positioned well

make sure your video voltage for the video rx stays up and does not fall

a good steady voltage is imporatant for all components and many people underestimate the video rx voltage requirements

everything has to have the volts and not everyone talks or thinks of the video rx volts and miss this very important requirment, a very underestimated requirement

The extra beam, probably not a problem. The metal case of the Rx itself, could certainly
interfere with the radiation pattern.

The RX location is probably fine. It's behind the reflector. It should be ok there. There is no way to get it completely out of the radiation pattern.

The 4 channel RX from dpcav is a decent unit. It's sensitivity is fair. It could be a bit narrower, however. But I can't complain. You can replace the SAW filter, I guess, but I'm 2 for 4 on that mod. I got one working great, one working ok, and two dead ones. This coming from a guy who has a professional soldering station and many years experience...

only reason being that i have tried some not so good video rx's and found others to be much better

maybe that is a good one but others claim to have had problems with 900 due to poor quality products.

and wish for higher quality 900 systems

personally i never tried that rx but maybe something to concider
