Thanks for these calculations.
My LVC is set to 12 volts, and there are 2 3300 batteries (4s) that are virtually new. This was the second flight of the day (the first was just a few laps around the field).
What do the tones mean coming from the esc?

Again ?

I lost also a plane due to the scorpion esc shutting down at take off... it was replaced under warranty but sleeps presently in a drawer... it was a 120A that failed at 60A...

Maybe the battery is going LVC

Ok, I see where you got that figure. I used the original voltage SC uses @ 14.8V. Changed it to 15.5V and got nearly the same.
Now why not change SC to reflect these greater voltages?

Hi Jollyroger
SC is adopting several modes for voltage
With LiPo mode the default value is 3.7V (average plateau)
If the pack is fresh and full the voltage could be higher.
You can edit yourself the voltage
SC leaves some freedom for editing-tuning by the user.
SC cannot satisfy everybody + his father
SC objective is to provide an "order of magnitude".

I have a 5545-180 that I fly fairly hard 3d with. How often should I oil the bearings?

Hello there!

I'd set my LVC @ 3.3 * 4 = 13.2 V.

If it's a 4 cell battery, I don't wana drain a battery below 3.3 volts per cell. :-)

I appreciate this advice, but because I have video telemetry I know exactly how much voltage I have at any given moment. If it is between losing my plane and drawing my batteries down, I'm going to save my plane and ruin my batteries. Thus I set it to 12 volts.

What I would really like to know from the community is what those beeps mean when the ESC shut down, crashing my plane. I still had control surfaces, I just had no airspeed to use them when I stalled out when the esc quit and started beeping.

I don't think that the shaft can be reversed because it is turned down to 5mm on one end. When you turn a motor around you have to have room on the shaft to put a collar. The C-clip is not sufficient. I think you will need an S-4035 Shaft kit.
