How do you like your "air brakes"? Can't see from video if it works well.

The front canard and rear elevons work great. They provide plenty of lift and directional control for 45 degree and 90 degree forward flight. It also hovers just fine for me.

I believe that if you only tilt the portion of the wing that is immersed in the rotor wake you shouldn't get much more sail effect from wind than if you were just tilting the rotors. I believe that the interference between the rotor wake and the wind is big enough that the addition of the tilted wing portion is fairly negligible.

Here is another video of my "air brakes" in action. These ailerons account for half the length of the wing and are completely covered by the propeller wake, except for a quarter of an inch.

Some more Hover to 45 degree tilt testing. This time with some counter rotating props. The transition felt nice and smooth with no bad tendencies.

I have to really cut back on the gas when flying around with the motors at 45 degrees or else it'll climb too much. You'll have a hard time convincing me that the effect of my air brakes is negligible.

Another of the Dualcopter a little closer up. I've since smoothed out the transitions more from what is seen in this video.

Someone asked me if I worked for JPL. Maybe some day
