Fouga Magister CM-170

Hi all,

Here is my new project for next spring....a 1200mm wing span , twin edf, Fouga magister. This plane was used till the 80's by the french show team "patrouille de France"....

For now, it weight under 700g with the EDF and the servos. The wings are covered with glued kraft paper,: very very strong
I hope to stay near 1kg. it should be ok with the 2 Dr Mad Thrust 55mm EDF I guess....

Regards

Looking forward to watching this build progress Lionel - you have great skills.

The Magister is one of my favourite airplanes.

I was flying my slopey just last weekend.

Hi

Today I cut the aileron through the foam. The upper side of the kraft paper is kept, to make the hinge.

I drill the front part of the canopy too.

Very nice Kiwi!
Is it a kit or a scratchbuild? Wood or foam?

Thanks Lionel.

It is a real fun (all balsawood) model to fly and is scratch built based on plans made by Paul Janssens: http://www.pjmodelclassics.be/

PSS Fouga Magister (2 min 53 sec)

I've grown used to seeing the Fouga in a bare metal scheme - so it looks right to me that way...

Hi all

Recently, i covered the plane with kraft paper and wood glue.

I started to install the ESC and wonder how to cool them...

The cockpit is in glassing phase...looks decent

Nice work - perhaps you could install naca type air ducts in the inside of the jet intakes? http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._Duct_Set.html

You will also need to make an outlet that is about 1.5 times the combined size of the inlets.

Just cut a hole that the ESC will fit into in the side of the duct/ fuse in the hatch area and set the esc flush with the inside of the duct.
