7.5 seems very small for a 60" hotliner..What plane is it?what is the weight?

model is a filipV 60 in span @24 oz....long time ago had the same model and just had a 400 can motor which hauled it up fine but now wanting to get a bit exotic and go brushless so am thinking a 480-400 O/R would be fine?

also have another 72 in. hotliner that ran a AXi 2808/16 with a 7x5 folder and it hauled that one up just fine, ....problem is I would use the AXi in the filip but the wires exit from the front and imped the barrel, meaning I need the wires to exit out the back ...get the picture?

now I think about it a 480 may be too much

Well, the Smart is 60" and I had the Aveox F10 on 8 Sub-C's, 14.5x14 RFM - ~1000W. Went like stink, but at close to 5lbs, was a handful to launch!

Heavy motor, heavy batteries. Rx, Rx battery and tail servo stuffed back in fuselage behind trailing edge.

There was no more room in fuselage for anything!
