Hi! I am a newbie to this forum and boats for that matter. I currently run RC cars and planes. I was browsing this site and ran across a green pontoon boat that had a barbie doll driving it. The boat is exactly what I have at my lake home! I am looking for plans or how-to's in building that one. I would put the outboard motor on it and make it look just like mine (including the green!). Does anyone know who made that one or who has a kit or plans for one? The picture was in the the scale boats forum.

I had some plans years ago, let me do some digging. I know Bill Zumwalt rebuilt one that a friend of his built back in the early 90's. He even put a working stereo in it.

I think these are the pictures of the green pontoon boat you were talking about.

Here are some pictures of the pontoon boat Old River Bill rebuilt and another trailer plan. The pontoon boat is a 1/6 Scale Replica Of a 1975 Era... 28' Kayot.

When you get to the outboard stage take a look at the Aquacraft outboard from their Pro Fisherman. I bought a Pro Fisherman two years ago and really like the motor. Graupner has a decent outboard from what I hear (no personal experience). Stay away from the Jackson outboard. It is heavy and the bevel gears are not very good (personal experience). The Aquacraft is available separate from the boat model. Our local hobby shop had one awhile back for about $65.00 - $70.00.

I've got some great ideas but I just need to figure out how to make the pontoons.

There have been pontoons made out of many things, PVC pipe, ABS pipe, thin aluminum tubing, fiberglass over cardboard tubing, fiberglass tubing, acrylic tubing..........

I know this is bursting into the convo, but what scale is the outboard by Aquacraft (approx)? I think it may be cool to make a model of my ski boat at some point in time.

I am not sure what scale it is,but I just measured the length on mine and it is 7 and 1/8 inches long.
