Does anyone have any solid figures for level flight cruise amp or wattage?

If so, please post it with your all-up weight if you know it, (or a guess, like "overloaded", "normal", "super low calorie"), and the prop/motor combo you use, and the cruise speed @ that amp, if you have an idea ..

I've seen figures all over the place, hence the question!

13 mile level flight, 29:45 minutes, using 3300mAh of a 3S 4000mAh pack.
Works out to average 6.6A at 26.2mph. Could have flown the return leg a little slower.
No canopy and two cameras out in the airflow. Could be a lot more aerodynamic.
1220kv motor turning a 10x6 folding prop. AUW 59oz.

how do you stop your folding prop (on this pusher) from folding too far and not un-folding? did you put a spinner on it?

Just a small strip of sheet metal held down with the center nut
that reaches out to each side that holds the blades from folding past center.
There's a commercial product that does it, http://www.espritmodel.com/index.asp...D&ProdID=14295
but it's really easy to make your own.

I have an aeronaut 10x6 and the aeronaut centerpiece, and it only juuust clears the fuselage.

I cut a small strip of 1mm aluminium to solve that issue. Works great

Mine cruises on about 4A with a 4000mah 3s. It's a pretty light built with no extra strengthening. dx201 cam. aerodrive xp 35-30 1400 running apc 9*6e

What's a good scorpion motor for the Skywalker on 4S, 9x6" prop? Not really familiar with the scorpion designations...

All the matters is the Kv rating (rpm per volt) and max current rating. The "designation" is pretty
much irrelevant. Most folks run 1200-1400kv on 3S and 900-1000Kv on 4S, and allow for
30A (underrated motors like scorpion and Hacker) or 40A (true or optimistic rating for other motors)

I'm using a Scorpion SII-3008-1220 and 3S 5000 mAh batteries. A lot of guys are using the 3014 size, but this motor has enough power to do what I need. It won't go vertical, but it is very efficient.

The SII-3008-1220 is also about the lightest motor in this class (30-40A) at 95 grams.

I'm cruising at around 4 Amps with a 4S battery, comfortable cruise speed is about 25Mph

When you have this bird trimmed and balanced just right she really can glide.

Keeping in mind 4A at 14.8V (4S nominal) is 59.2 Watts which would require 5.3A at 11.1V (3S nominal)

It looks better in motion trust me. Plus our settings were a little wacked, video was poor. There is a nasty impedance mismatch from the camera to the RVOSD board.
