Need honest feedback about GWS floats on an E-starter

I have a large field outside my house, about 23 acres to fly in, however i have no suitable landing site for gear, and belly landing seems to be a bit hard on the plane sometimes.

However i have about a 3 acre lake here and am considering adding floats to my plane for takeoff/landings.

How much do they affect flight? How much do they add to wieght? Do i need to upgrade from my NIMH/400D power setup to make it still perform well with the floats?

I hear the GWS floats are heavy. I got my 19" floats at foamfloats.com, and they are just under 1 Oz.
The biggest thing I see in flight is a "pendulum" effect; a tendency for the plane to want to "rock" back to level and overshot, then swing back. Not much, tho. Just try to fly a little more gingerly.

An E-Starter with GWS floats can fly very well, capable of rolls, loops, hammerheads and other light aerobatics. My floats weigh about 4.5 ounces, using CF rod instead of piano wire as a brace between the floats. But my setup includes an E-Flite 370-4100 and Apogee 3S 1050 lipos. With the BL power and lighter battery weight, the E-Starter leaps from the water in a few feet, and flys for around 12-15 minutes. Great fun!
