Spring is finally here

The wind has finally died down and I can fly again.

Today, I flew 5 planes. The Cessna Corvalis was the most relaxing and enjoyable. It just floats so nicely. The flaps allow it to really slow down. Coming in over the lake to reach the landing strip looks terrific.

I followed the advice of trimming to fly at about 1/2 throttle and it works beautifully. It put a smile on my face; God is good. What a joy to fly.

How to repair front landing gear

I had a rough landing today and snapped the front landing gear shaft. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix it or modify it?

Thanks,
Tom

Tom, take a look back through this thread. There are a couple of accounts on how to fix the nose wheel. It usually requires some careful carving of the lower fuselage foam, but if done carefully, the results still look good. Once you gain access, screwing in the new strut assembly is a snap.

I have to laugh cause I posted the picture in a FPV thread and they went crazy thinking it was a real airplane. I love the way the plane looks and flies in the air.

Bump!

We've got an updated version of the Corvallis here in Europe. It's comes with a fresh new colour scheme and 'servo slow' on the flaps which not only look good, but will stop sudden pitching upon deployment. Personally I think the makeover has bought the Cessna bang up to date and it should ensure this great little plane is around for a lot longer yet.

Looks good, Ben.

I've got the add your own receiver ST Models version (mostly white, with maroon and grey trim, done with decals). I hadn't thought of slowing down the flaps. I have a setting for that on my transmitter too. I'll have to give it a go.

It looks great. I wish mine looked that good.

This is one of my favorite planes for a relaxing flight around the field.

Outstanding video! I am purchasing a Cessna but the manual indindicates you must place the throttle at halfway prior to plugging the battery to the ESC. Is this common for the Corvallis? I have never placed the throttle at halfway prior to bat installation. Please advise. Thx

Anyone added FPV to their Cessna? Kind of thinking about putting it in the cockpit. Would be a fun plane to do touch n gos with via fpv.
