I'd love to! Hopefully that will be a future project. I'm actually starting another rally car build later today though on a more modern chassis.

That should be a fun build too. Are you keeping the Datsun body?

Did you see that fellow RCG member, Droopy1975, scored the Tamiya Porsche 959 and the Tamiya Celica? Right time at the right place.

Definitely keeping the Datsun body. Going to do up 2 of them actually. One body for running and one for display.

I saw and he is very fortunate Timing is everything!

Did you check the FAQ already?

Odd to see replacing the MSC with an ESC result in a speed increase. At full throttle, a MSC traditionally meant almost 0 resistance, where an ESC's internal resistance usually is bigger. Maybe your MSC was not making good contact between the PCB and moving part?

I was surprised myself when I saw how much the tires expanded with the ESC installed compared to with the MSC. I'm not sure what the cause might have been but I went over the MSC several times checking and double checking all contacts and connections and couldn't find anything wrong. The car ran just fine with it during my test runs too. Yet there is a noticeable difference in wheel RPM with the ESC now hooked up. I'm going to try and get it to a parking lot tomorrow for a few minutes just to confirm my initial thoughts.

I remember the same when I replaced the MSC for an ESC. The car was hit from the side and the MSC mounting posts broke off the chassis plate.

Maybe just more efficient of a system.

Well it's been raining here for the last few days so I haven't been able to get it out for a run to confirm it's faster yet, but it looks like I might be able to tomorrow.
