Over complicated IMO.
I also explored belt drive on the GPV and made a prototype. Works great but from my experience racing touring cars I know how belts wear and how the pulleys build up dust and pack it in. I opted for the micro chain from Japan for scale effect and reliability. Its the single most expensive component on the GPV!
Still cool to see more bikes though...
This bike would benefit from smaller shocks and using the lower control arm to push the shock rather than the upper to further consolidate the weight in a central mass.

Great bike, Jimmy.
Seems 1/8 scale is growing everywhere and many people want to try something different than ZH bikes...
I think I should recover my old 5.8 proyect and return to the tracks next season.
About the "oversized" shocks quoted before, Traxxas 1/16 shocks are the way to go when soft spring can be used, but the extreme ratio of your swingarm/ shock pivot radius doesn't allow this...
Seems you're using standard Tamiya Mini springs (rated 1.5kg/cm) up front and that's way too hard for the tiny Traxxas pistons.
Hope we could race our prototypes in a close future.
