Mega Motors Freedom 3D Questions.
Well I'm looking into getting the Freedom 3D from www.megamotorsusa.com. I want to use the stock setup, But thats not going to happen as it needs a 5:1 mega planetary GB and that $119. Thats insane. I'm sorry.
So what other setup can I use? I was really bumbed when I found out its as much as the motor....As I was about to order, But now I need a new motor option. HELP! Whats else can I use!?

For the benefit of others reading, you don't need a $119 gearbox! Yes, the smooth quiet of a planetary is nice, but certainly not a requirement. For $50, a MEC Superbox will give you the same ratio and a whole lot more just by swapping pinions and/or spurs. Sure, it's big & clunky, but well suited to the application and what everyone else is using.
That said, if, when I finally receive the Freedom 3D I ordered, a Superbox doesn't fit in the nose, I'm gonna be seriously upset. I have faith, though.
