The three blade 6-4 works really well, and is so quiet when compared to the stock two blade. Add the 4cell 1300, and to me you have the best of both worlds, both speed and power, and great slow flying, too. ----Metalguy

I'm going to give it a shot.
A balanced prop makes a huge difference.

I've been flying these guys recently... Time to flip the Skipper around...

Well....My first 4s experience with the skipper was....well... smokin'...

Just a couple of seconds of power... Prop was replaced with a 6x3 for a bit less motor load.
The esc is now replaced with a 60A version.

Wow, that's I believe up to 6s esc.
I've got 15 batteries 4s through. I don't keep wot much longer than 5-10 seconds tops. Then float. Also before landing I'll do a few cool down laps. If it is 90* outside I'll stick to 3s just in case. Although flying off water keeps the motor cooler..

Well, just as well it didn't happen in flight eh?

It's not a bad idea to always use a UBEC which will protect against the esc smoking in flight and losing power to the Rx. The UBEC will always provide 5V to the Rx (providing the flight battery still has power of course) even though the esc has fried.

And the pic shows you don't HAVE to have a separate battery for the UBEC either. Just splice it into the esc to battery wires and even if the esc is dead the UBEC will still get power from the battery

The insulation you can see on the splices is polymorph as demoed in this video
InstaMorph RC Plane Repair (8 min 25 sec)

Also we should not fly more than 4 servos without a UBEC The load on the built in BEC in the esc can be too much for it.
