Video
Video of coming alongside the quay.

かめりあ丸(Kameria-maru) came at the wharf of the detached island, without flinching from big swell.

Why is the Kameria-Maru painted in Norwegian colours?

It does not matter what color she is painted in that was some ship handling in those waves.

Seamanship at its finest.

To set her up alongside the quay without crushing an egg was pretty cool to watch.

No markings on the bow, but I'm sure I saw a thruster working... helps a lot.

Nice job skipper...landing in a swell sucks...

The cameraman might want to reconsider standing next to tensioned stern-line next time...

Would like to see just how much of a beating the ship takes when it is all snugged up to the dock. Some of those waves really had her rockin' & rollin' close to the dock.

If you look at the stern you will notice that there were all kind of half round steel pipes reinforcing that part of the hull. And I would not be surprised that there were those large floating bumpers that we could not see.

By the way I was curious where this might be and found that it is a regular ferry service between Tokyo and some islands called the Izu Islands that are quite a way off of the coast of Japan.
