Last year we were blessed with high winds and very challenging conditions. Pushing the date back a few weeks will hopefully get us more 'Carolina Blue' skies

Yes, and it will not hurt that it will stay daylight longer.

With any luck I will not have to fly a Radian Pro this year.

F5j

We have been kicking around the idea of flying some F5J rounds on Friday or incorporating a 2 in one contest or maybe even a F5J fly off. We certainly will cater to all the ALES guys first but if we can get a few more pilots to visit that's what we would like most.
What do you guys think? What to fly some F5J?

F5j

F5J is more interesting that ALES so yes if it works for others.

We have a whopping 6 pilots registered within the first 2 days
http://olgol.com/ECALESF/pilots.html

I sure hope we see a few out of town pilots sign up eventually!

F5J is a secondary goal. If there is enough interest we can do something involving F5J (I am personally interested and several club members are too).
But the main event will definitely stay ALES. So don't hesitate, register and start planning your trip to Wilson NC. It should be sunny and worm in April here.

Oleg,

I believe those pictures are from 2013.....regardless, Denny and I had a very good time. I hope to make my way south in April.

Ah, the old ratchet-handle-used -for-ballast-on-a-Radian trick. What a classic!! I forget, was that Brady's doing?

Yes, Brady. That was one windy event. Unfortunately, for us, Brady has upgraded and is a serious threat. He has been practicing F5J every chance he gets. ALES to 200m is getting easy for him.
