Try this...

These are the newest ones I'm using for my Avioniks. I used to have the base deeper and notched the ailerons and elevators to inset the horns into the controls, but anymore I just roughen the surface of the surfaces so glue will adhere, then glue the horns on directly (with CA).

I use .047" K&S music wire, so drill the holes with a No. 56 (.046") drill. The holes are a tad tight, so ream the drill in and out a few times to provide the proper fit. Also, if possible use a drill press t get the holes square.

When you print the file, be sure to print 100% so there will be no scaling. You can measure the square to make sure they printed out the correct size.

Use spray adhesive (like 3M 77) to adhere the templates to your material, then remove with naptha (lighter fluid) after cutting them out.

I only noticed the other day that my Swist hasn't got the Trilerons that the earlier models have, it also has 'ribs' at the side of the servo bays which I don't remember anyone mentioning them before.

eheli, the horns that were supplied were a bit thin and fluffy for my liking, I think the 2 tall ones are for the ailerons, the dark 1 (only received 1) I think is for flaps but doesn't look tall enough and looks as if it might sit too far forward of the hinge line (for top hinged control surfaces) whether it was used on the ailerons or flaps IMO.

BTW if anyone hasn't seen the KST X08's they really are small, pic is the X08 next to a SD150 and a SuperTec 7.5g servo (which used to be small). The other pic is the X08 next to a unknown brand 5g servo.

eheli, if you could check your crow settings it'd be appreciated. I've only got 4mm down throw on the ele @ 110% throws (max setting for MPX), I'm hoping that'll be enough to dial in the ele compensation on the crow mix but if you're using more I might redo the horn. Max up aileron is ~8mm @ 110% so I'm happy with that although it doesn't look a lot compared to other crow settings. I've just got the flap horns to do, I think the horn is about right.... I get about 13mm of down flap at which point it looks like the wiper stops the surface deflecting down. I guess I could sand the wiper down a bit and see if it allows anymore travel but would like to hear what your settings are before I decide.

Hi Young Wings.

Sorry for a late reply...I don't frequent the Swist thread very much (beautiful model and I met Artem the designer at the F5D World Championships last year!). I just don't own one.

I drew the hatch covers in AutoCAD and laser-cut them from .020" ABS, so I guess I do have a template. But it's for the large openings in the Avionik.
