I have had several GWS planes - all from Horizon Hobby. The P-51 and E-starter were my first two planes and Horizon recommended the GWS100 (5 amp) ESC. I've been using that ESC with an 8 cel 800Nimh AAA battery which pulls about 6-7amps (I believe?)
I am now in the process of building the Formosa and Corsair. So, two questions:
1. Do both of these planes come with a 350 motor?
2. While using the same battery, will I still be able to use the same ESC? Or might I burn up the ESC?

The reason you're only pulling 6-7 amps is that the ICS 100 is acting like a governor. switch to the ICS 300 (not 300E) and you'll enjoy it much more. shorter takeoff, more power. The ICS 300 also comes with all the connectors just like the ICS 100, so no soldering and it is a perfect replacement.
I flew my estarter on the 100 for a while and other guys estarters were much snappier. since the change, the plane was becoming my favorite.
Then i finished my Formosa.
My first Brushless system with a razor 400 and CC 25. Wow built it as light as i could and it comes in under 13oz with a 2S 1200 RTF. On the 11x8 prop it really does well. Does everything i wanted it to.
just got 3S 1200's though so i'll be dropping the prop down to 9x7 or 10x8, will really rock. hoping to be able to switch props and enjoy both setups.
