On the subject of elastic for the wing hold down, part of my pre flight check now is to lift the front of the wing a tad and peek to see that the Rx has fully bound.
Been caught out too many times now not to.
Couldn't do that with a rigidly fixed wing.

Was wondering if anyone has used it. I'm going to go look at a google map of my flying area and see how far 1500 ft is

I'm no fan of the electronics HZ puts in, never was. I'd go with a RX upgrade, either that one or a HK orange with a satellite .

Man, you gotta see the LED controller I'm getting from DIY RC. Programmable PIC micro-controller chip that you use a nice little graphical interface on your computer to program your strobe patterns on a timeline just by putting little ticks where you want your events... then dump to the chip via a usb cable and throw it in your plane. You can re-program it as many times as you want and the GUI shows you a simulation of your patterns. Tom is customizing one for me and sending it out in the morning to Florida... will have that next week too when my sister returns home to Edmonton

I just saw a Cymbalta commercial that showed a good clip of a guy flying a Super Cub. Pretty cool.

Question for a buddy looking at getting a 27mhz SC: Are the servos able to be used with a 2.4g radio, like Spektrum? Or would you have to replace the servos if you swap the rx?

The original 27 MHz HZ Supercub used a 5 wire servo part no PKZ1070.
The 2.4 g RTF/BNF uses a 3 wire servo part no PKZ 1060.

The servos will have to be replaced.
