I'm also preparing a larger project than this..(larger in terms of cost)

This one is going to be on 6s
Motor is the HK X4082 1600kv
EDF unit the ChangeSun 12 Blader
ESC - Turnigy Dlux 100 (120 burst)
Glassed the tail feathers using 18g/m fiber glass cloth
Also have the optional head light but will not install it just yet.
The retracts are the RClander retracts for the Mig-17

already tried and using the same ones on my flyfly MB339 with overal flying weight 3.2 and 3.3 on the 4400mah 65~130c 4s nano-tech packs (that's x2 in series for 8s and HET fan on that one)

I could have glassed the whole plane because the foam is EPS. but for 50 euros that I got the kit I can't complain

The retracts will be fine on this one. this will be even lighter than my Aermacchi with overall weight at 2.9gks with 6s 4400mah 65~130c nanotech pack

Those 4s that I already have and use x2 in my MB229 and the 6s that I will order for this one will also form a 10s for my HK viperjet . That will be on a stumax sm89 fan with 1200kv motor and I will go for all out speed with that one
CC ESC HV2 and for sure I will use the telemetry of my DX8 and the airspeed sensor.
Already tried that on the MB339 and works absolutely great.

rigfht now I'm doing the last push rods of the ailerons and also passing some extention leads to decide if Iwill have some wiring always in place to connect the retracts and the ailerons since I don't have a car to transfer the whole plane assembled.

I will keep in touch.. keep the thread alive since soon I will maiden her..

ok cool im building a 2.2m pitts.i never seem to find the time for this one.

Your setup seem's like a nice one.
Im also running on 6cell.120hv esc 40v ubec
im not sure on the fan unit as i pick it up from a swap meet over here but its all carbon fibre.and the motor has no marking on it but she screams and pulls 2011watts on the meter i think its a bit over the top really
