DragonFly Strong
Hi, i am new in the teme of sailplanes and gliders and i have a Dragonfly Strong and a BLIZZARD 3.4 meters but i wanna convert to electric because now i am living on a flat area and i would like to have an electric gliders can you give me an advise if is posible to convert this beutifull birds to electric, and what motors do you recomend , i have the motor MVVS 5.6/690 http://www.espritmodel.com/mvvs-46-5...ess-motor.aspx and i wanna know if this motor is good or is too strong for this bird or what motor do you recomend.

I think that should work fine. That web link gives you good starting point for the size of the other components you will need too...

Basically you are going to take your DragonFly Strong, a winched plane and convert it to a DragonFly Strong-E
http://www.soaringusa.com/DragonFly-Strong-E.html Likely you could just buy the E fuselage and retain the one you have for Hi-start/winch/slope CG would remain the same, in terms of starting point on the specs, then you tune to taste. Pablo Pinto prefers his CG more rearward. Your smileage may vary. |

Pablo - I found this post that says after some testing that he ended up with 4 3/8" back for the CG...

I wanted more vertical. I started with a geared Mega and ended up with a geared Neu. Wonderful glider.
