HobbyKing Quanum Venture FPV Quadcopter

Looks jolly interesting.

This Deluxe package uses only the best components which include a DJI Naza Lite with GPS, Fatshark 250mW video tx and 600TVL fpv tuned camera, MultiStar 2213 motors and matched 20A Afro ESC’s for a plug and fly FPV experience like no other.

The Venture FPV Quad started life as a H-quad giving the camera a forward unobstructed view of the sky ahead, as well as allowing for optimal equipment separation to minimise video transmission interfererence & perfect flight controller positioning for the DJI Naza. With a layout decided, a sleek purpose built molded frame was forged with an aluminum main spar and unibody strengthening. All the best provisions were taken into consideration, making the Venture the best FPV cross platform frame available with options and provisions beyond any other Quad in its class.

The Venture frame has a center spar to which most components attach. The ESC mount/power distribution board has pre-fitted 20A Afro ESC’s and filtered FPV power lines. It also handles the centerline battery mounting. The Multi-mount FC position and Power module support is pre-fitted with a DJI Naza Lite and remote UBEC/USB module. The cross arms allow for in-tube wiring and the motor mounts not only look good, but protect the included 2213 MultiStar motors and have replaceable/optional landing skid options. The front arm mount houses a protected center camera mounting cube with a FatShark FPV tuned 600TVL camera pre-installed and wired with vibration isolation pads. The lower molded unibody shell attaches to the arms and spar and has provisions for universal gimbal mounting and tall skids as an option. The lower shell also has a rigid top cross roll bar that also plays the role as the GPS mount. At the rear of the lower shell a mounting cube for the included Fatshark 250mW FPV video transmitter. The upper shell is vacuum formed polycarbonate for a balance in weight and strength and lends well to customizing. Access ports have been made for all types of gear so maintenance is a snap.

The Deluxe Package only requires you to install your favorite radio receiver and calibrate the transmitter, charge up your 2200 3s battery and slip on your FPV goggles for an elevated experience. If you’re new to FPV or just want a multi-rotor that you can pull out of the back of the car and fly FPV without any hassles, the great design and top quality components make the Quanum Venture Deluxe edition a platform you can trust.

The Venture is a refined evolution of multi-rotor DNA, and exemplifies cross use without compromise.

I will watch with interest, my finger keeps hovering over the buy button. We have a postal strike over here in South Africa its been going on for three months so I am worried it would not arrive. Very tempted.

i got mine and installed a RCTIMER FixHawk Autopilot. Flys good but it is under powered. It take 86% throttle to hover. I have swapped out the stock 8in props with 9x4.7 CF and went to a 4s. Much better. getting about a 10-15min flight depending on flight profile. I also added strip lights to the main fuse for night orientation.

Are the feet tuned ?

Seems everyone prefers "tuned items" as they must work better

I'm gonna hold out for my next quad til someone brings one out with tuned feet and arms

Hello.
I have to change an ESC on my venture
the motor stops randomly...
Do I have to solder anything or just plug this item http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...Firmware_.html

Sorry for my question but I don't have my venture with me to check...

Would anyone recommend this quad as my first non-toy quad?

Looking for a possible fpv setup but initially just want something I can fly around, no racing. Would like a flight controller that I can set flight plans and gps home.

How is durability and availability of replacement parts? Is the quality of this quad good? Looking to spend $150-$250 if you have any recommendations.

Also found this one http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2428836
And this

I can't decide, please help!

Thanks!

Holy thread resurrection!

I bought the quad as my first quad (it's now for sale ironically in the classifieds) and loved it. I outgrew it as I got in to FPV racing 250 sized quads. As for durability I haven't had to replace any parts, but would recommend a spare frame and of course props since they are cheap.

The onboard Naza Lite can do return to home out of the box, just read the docs.

I bought the extended height landing legs and they broke the first day, like many other people. Other then the aftermarket legs, the quad is solid!

Does naza have the ability to set flight plans through a pc?

Looking at this one, which allows me to pick my own flight controller. I was looking at APM. My only concern is the motors, what are your thoughts on this one? If I go with this was, what parts do u recommend replacing immediately?
