Parkzone Micro P-51D Mustang with AS3X!

Looks like the Old P-51 has a New version, with AS3X. I swore off 1S micros, but I might have to change my mind with this one...

Oh Yeah!!! I love it

If you’re looking for the most satisfying ultra micro Mustang experience available, this is your plane. For starters, it boasts a level of detail rarely seen in models of this size. Molded panel lines, clear canopy, gun and exhaust details, pilot figure, instrument panel details, 4-bladed prop—you get it all. Even the trim scheme is that of a full-scale Mustang that flew with the 334th Fighter Squadron during World War II.

In the air, its advanced AS3X® (Artificial Stabilization – 3-aXis) System will work behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of forces like P-factor, turbulence and torque. Instead of an ultra micro, you’ll feel like you’re at the controls of an expertly tuned, giant-scale model that flies like it’s on rails.

Features:
  • ParkZone® DSM2®/DSMX® receiver/ESC/AS3X® unit, installed
  • Realistic 334th Fighter Squadron trim scheme
  • Clear canopy with pilot figure
  • 4-bladed prop
  • Gun, exhaust and instrument panel details
  • Molded panel lines
  • Removable landing gear with steerable tail wheel
  • 8.5mm brushed motor
  • Includes 1S 150mAh 25C Li-Po battery
  • Includes 1-cell DC charger
  • Requires 4+ channel DSM2/DSMX transmitter (sold separately)

Specs:
  • Wingspan: 16.2 in (410mm)
  • Overall Length: 14.1 in (357mm)
  • Flying Weight: 1.5 oz (43 g)
  • Radio: 4+ channel DSM2/DSMX transmitter required
  • CG (center of gravity): 1.38 in (35mm) behind the leading edge at wing root
  • Prop Size: 100 x 100mm 4-blade propeller
  • Recommended Battery: 3.7V 1S 150mAh LiPo (included)
  • Flaps: No
  • Retracts: No
  • Charger: AC/DC 3.7V LiPo charger (included)
  • Minimum Age Recommendation: 14 years
  • Experience Level: Intermediate
  • Recommended Environment: Indoor/Outdoor
  • Is Assembly Required: No

I think this will be PZs best 1s warbird yet, well its the lightest one currently with AS3X. Cool that they went with the 4 blade prop, I think that was the best prop I had on my V1 Mustang.

Here's my V1 'Stang with 260mah 1s, 4 blade prop and a flying weight of 47g. So the V2 should handle similar if not better:

Figures, slowly building a reinforced UM P-51 to replace the battered old one and this comes out. It wouldn't be so high on my list due to the lack of brushless, BUT since it's got the clear canopy, 4 blader that actually fits on it, and the AS3X... and since I'm currently assigned to the base where this birds scheme comes from, I guess it's a day 1 purchase.

Looking forward to your review on this one, Chuck. I too noticed that it's lighter than the Spit and the P-40, should be a nice flier.

Now, how about another twin with AS3X, Parkzone? I check every day hoping to see a P-38 sitting along side the Mossy...

I've been flying the old version with the spit 4 blade for months now and it's a nice improvement over the 2 blade.....now it's complete with the looks of a clear cockpit and panel lines to go with the performance....

Nice job HH.

Looking good! The level of detail is better than my old one. I think this one is a winner, HOWEVER it still has the same flaky BRUSHED motor in it!

It would be too high of a price point if it was brushless. And how much power does one need for a warbird that will spend 100% of it's time zooming and booming? For a 3D plane like the Beast that needs 1:1 power I can understand BL. But for a Mustang? That little brushed pager motor provides more than enough power.
