Smaller fpv wing?

Looking into a smaller fpv wing, mini popwing looked great until you put the fpv gear on it, they fly like @ss... They have a little bigger one in the 32"ish range..

Anyone else flying a sub 40" wing? Like to see fpv video of how stable they are, ground video of flyby's show nothing for stability.

Thanks!

Look Here I love the Skywalker X5. No FPV atm as I have just done quite a bit of modifying but it will be going back in before long.

If you get one from BEV-RC they are much cheaper than Hobby King (May be out of stock at present)
One of the cheapest and best wings available.

Stability lol.
Yeah, wings in general suck at keeping the nose stable. I have tried Godiscover, the old-school Unicorn, Tek Sumo and Bonsai so far, not sure if Parkjet and Skyfun count but they suck too. Fuselage/tail setups hold the nose still way better.

You mention popwing and it has been a pretty decent rig for me. I have blown through three of the things so far. I think they make good slope soarers, fun when built up as furious little racers like these
http://fpvlab.com/forums/showthread....-Race-Popwings
and they also work good as medium range wings. I like to toss a 5.2 ah battery on mine and churn the air with a big ol' 9x6 propeller and a low kv motor for some relatively long range flying.

The Tek Sumo sometimes gets chosen over my much smoother flying distance ships because it's more acceptant of the abusive lifestyle I like to put my planes through. It's nice to have a pile of rocks as a landing option, and it's more fun to fly between the trees than it is to fly above the trees.

popwing is tough, but flies like crap, unstable. Ive had a 52" FPV wing, it was decent. Maybe I need to give up on wings...

Yeah, the smaller the platform in general the easier it gets knocked around by little gusts of turbulence. Wing loading helps too, light wing loading and you get a floatier ride, heavier wing loading you get something that bulldozes through the turbulence

Might I also mention that the best performers in general (boats, planes, motorbikes, race cars, paragliders) are inherently "unstable".

I'm sticking a 1500 watt powertrain on my mini-popwing. We'll see how "stable" she is then lol

How small do you want to go? The mini parkjet is a scaled down Skyfun and flies awesome at up to 500g
