Selecting Wireless Frequency on AV Transmitter
I am setting up a quad for FPV and have the following items:
900mhz Telemtry/Autopilot Link
2.4Ghz Futaba FASST Tx/Rx
1.2Ghz 1500mw Video Transmitter
I had a question regarding the video transmitter. 1st... I know 1500mw is alot. It's what I have for now left over from another project,I'll probably order a 400mw later once funds permit as it would be sufficent for my needs, and wate less power. That said, the video transmitter has 8 channels, 1.08,1 .120, 1.160, 1.2, 1.24, 1.28, 1.32, 1.36 ghz.
Which do you feel would be best to avoid interference with the 900mhz telemetry, Futaba transmitter, and GPS? I hear that 1.2GHZ is no good as it's the half harmoic to the Futaba system... and I know some GPS frequencies are in the 1.2 range. Would 1.360 be my best bet?
From experience, do you guys feel 1.5W in close proximity to the other equipment is going to be bad no matter what?
Any info is appreciated!
It really doesn't matter what channel you use. 1.5W on a Quad will thrash
everything else (RC Rx and GPS) and what it goesn't get, the 900Mhz
telemetry Tx will cover. But seriously, it's not even worth the
hassle to deal with that video Tx. Get a 300-400mW Tx with a low pass
filter and you should be fine. The 900Mhz telemetry link is probably
low enough power it won't hurt much.
