Hi,

Started to prepare my second F5J-400 competition season with Open9X.
I plan to fine tune my settings, if somebody interested i can share my program for competition plane.

Also I managed to use the trainer setup to mentor my friends with an easy glider.
Its worked flawlessly and can be set within 5 min.

I just finished flashing my Th9x and converting to FrSky modules and am ready to start programming. The first thing on the list is an electric sailplane for ALES/F5J so your offer to share your program would help me a lot.

Well I know I am blind and I could not find them...

Here are my templates. I have not tested the Windsong (e-powered) configuration with Open9x (it flew fine using ER9x before I migrated to Open9x).

The Windsong is a 134" span 3 servo wing - 1 flap servo, 2 aileron servos, 1 rudder, and 1 elev servo. It has crow and slow motion flaps (down) so you can see how that was done as well as various different elevator mixes for flap, motor, etc. If I remember correctly I used a curve to create my own aileron differential, there is a built in function in the release to simplify that now. Not included is an Airtronics legend that is 4 servo wing - I have not moved that one to Open9x.

Two 4 channel MRES electric powered Sagittas, one that uses Rudder dual rate switch for flight thermal mode, a Gentle Lady, a Craft Air Viking, a test mode - you can use that to cycle servos - remove any prop from electric powered craft until you understand what it does.

I just want to thank everyone for their continued support and contribution to this discussion. Keep it coming for the benefit of new glider pilots looking for a low cost glider radio.

Sry i am very busy, so here is my switch setup for my 9x for competition.

Let me know your opinions, I use this for all of my gliders and works quite well for me. In the future i plan to add a variable to mix for ail to rudder for one of the pot meters and maybe some variable elevator compensation for butterfly or throttle for the remaining potmeter. And also maybe snap flap.

Hoooopss. I almost forget the program, the glider name is Respect .

Its an old revision it needs an update for the latest companion.

Its explain the differ curve now.

Alternative option to get more mixes to upgrade your radio with atmega128, I not remember by how many but its should be enough, also increase flight phases and curves and everything.
If you are familiar in electronics and soldering its not a big deal, you can order it from digikey or farnell. Only setting the fuses is tricky.

Like the 9X / OpenTX / FRSky telemetry so much I bought the company a second.

Got so excited I mis-ordered my toys.

On the second 9X I decided to use a DJT module ( already installed ) a with FLD-02 display instead of the internal DHT... just because. I wanted to try the telemetry on a second screen rather than the 9X screen so that I could see the GPS and altitude and vario up high rather than down low.

Well DHT, DHT-U, DJT, FLD-02... and too much Shiraz while ordering from HK and I ended up with a DHT-U instead of a FLD-02. "U", "2" what's the diff.

But it all worked out and I now have parts left over to make a 3rd

Bottom line, I like 2 screens more than one.

• So modifying the 9X for OpenTX using SmartyParts or whatever else suits you = excellent

• Modifying the 9X for telemetry = not necessary

• DHT-U ( not FLD-02 ) = convenience of second screen, SD chip for data logging after flashing to v2.3 to capture GPS, ALT in CSV format that can be analysed in Excel or used to create KMZ files for Google Earth = excellent

FLD-02 does not have the SD chip the best I can tell from the HK pictures and documentation.

and a FUC-2 cable is required. Too back FRSky is so consumer inconsiderate that a FUC-3 cable would also replace the FUC-1 and FUC-2 so ALL the damned products could be flashed with one cable even if it had multiple cable ends.
