Hi Larry,

The fuselage of the Super Sky Surfer looks larger to me, so the pod would likely need to be re-designed. This is something I would be interested in doing if this airplane becomes popular for FPV, but I can't say when or if that will happen. Perhaps you could post a couple sketches of the canopy area when your plane arrives? That would help me determine whether I could simply up-scale the existing design, which wouldn't require as much work as starting from scratch.

Thanks for a quick reply on my question. When I get my plane(Super SkySurfer) I will make measurements and let you know what they are,maybe same size, but probably is bigger then the regular SkySurfer. I really like your design and will pay what ever you need to build me one for the Super skysurfer!
Will probably be a week to ten days before I receive the plane and will let you know the dimensions of the cockpit area.

bixler 2?

I believe the pod might fit the Bixler 2 as-is, since the fuselage and canopy area seem largely unchanged. However, the fact that it's offered only in pre-assembled form may cause issues. If anyone decides to try the pod with a Bixler 2, I'd appreciate feedback.

Not likely, since the AXN's canopy area is quite different.

Another idea on the SSF pod. If it does happen to be bigger, could you build a dock into the plane that allows the original pods to drop in? Or would a new design make more sense?

A dock would work, but then the battery tray would be the same size. I'd probably scale up the pod to fit the Super Sky Surfer, and might even use 3/16" wood.

Im tossing around the idea of trying it out. Ive got a B2 on the way... And it will be used for fpv....

Its coming soon, I stumbled on my electronics for a while but hope to maiden it sometime next week, if all goes well I mean LOL

Has anyone put an Eagle Tree system on the pod? OSD pro, elogger, gps and guardian? Just trying to get an idea of where people have located the componenets. I'm about to install mine and now that I'm ready to put everything in I'm torn as to where I should put it. I've done the elevator and rudder servo mod and moved them to the rear of the fuse, so the CG is naturally favoring the rear. Any thoughts?

Your build looks great so far! I have an Eagle Tree system mounted in my original pod, just check the images in post #1 to see where I chose to place everything. Let me know if the photos aren't clear enough.

Just glued mine up and abit disappointed (alot actually) that the tray is not wide enough (or alternatively, tall enough) for any of my 3S 5000 (zippy) or 4S 5800 (zippy) batteries.

The only ones that fit on the tray are the 2200 (both 3S/4S), which I use anyway. For $40, this Pod / tray would have been killer (function and value) if it was either a tad wider or taller to fit a larger battery to allow duration flying.

- There is space inside the fuselarge. Maybe previous owners can get a discount on Version 2.
