circular flying wing

I have built several flat plate circular flying wings but was wondering what airfoil would be apropriate for such a craft.

Well, apparently a flat plate airfoil works okay But seriously a disk is basically a delta with a blunt nose. A reflexed airfoil like an MH45 would be good at the center out to where the leading edge sweep is about 45 degrees, from there it can taper down to a sharp leading edge section at the tip.

ah ha! thanks for that. Never really figured how sweep would fit itself into a circular wing. Just looking for a bit more versatility than slower flat plate models! will keep you posted.

Several guys in the foamy scratchbuild section have used KFm step airfoils on round and oval fliers. Check out the UFO thread by GPW as one but there are several, some active. I think they use the step at 40-50% of the airfoil on them. Improves glide and penetration I guess.........

Good Luck
