whats a good balsa kit .. is the spirit100 still available

i only get so much time to go on line so i cant really search all the threads
i am interested in either the bird of time and throwing a brush less motor in it . but i thought i would check here i have been out of flying for a while . ii am wondering what would be a good balsa kit to get i would like a 2 or 3 meter. i would like to put some led lights in the wing and also be able to fly at night . sorry im not a go to the field with my plane and fly once a week . i try to fly every day right now i have the radian and i think its the best air plane i ever had , I installed flaps and i am thinking of chopping the wing tips and installing a carbon fiber rod so they swivel up and down like ailerons
also i notice its very hard to control this air plane under power seems to want to launch and bank to the left i am wondering if when i epoxied the plastic nose piece to the fuselage if i moved it to the left and changed the original angle of the prop . and when i climb it keeps wanting to go straight up and its dificult to controle its direction you can tell when you watch my videos but so far i havent got any replies

Hi, FF.

In no particular order.

The Chrysallis 2E from DJ Aerotech gets good reviews.

Mountain Models has some nice bigger gliders that one would need to convert to electric power. Check the short kits too.

If you want something more nostalgic then Skybench is a great source. Ray is taking a break and I'm not sure when he will be handling new orders but his kits are, by all accounts, worth the wait.

Another option would be something from the Art Hobbies line. With the sheeted foam wings and glass pod and boom they aren't quite like building a pure woody or light up like a Japanese lantern but they perform very well and should have one that's a perfect size for you.

Cheers!

MM Glidertech has some nice kits, the Marauder and Oculus have both proven themselves. The owners of MM Glidertech, DJ Aerotech, and Skybench are all fellow sailplane guys and are all active here on RCGroups. Their products are all top notch.
