Once I get charged up, I'm gonna go out and get the B2 back in the air. It's been a while. Hopefully this will go better than the last two times I've flown!

Good idea - BSoAZ is in one week. Will you be able to attend?

I plan on attending. I don't think I'll be fighting for spot in the fly-offs, but I'll be there, and flying.

I stopped by the bowl, in hopes I wouldn't have to drive to east mesa to trim over grass. I fully expected the place to be packed, but when I arrived, there was only one person there. Three more arrived before I got the plane in the air. Everyone gave each other plenty of room in the air, and all-in-all, it seemed a lot less DLG hostile than I recall it being. The re-maiden went well, though there are a few adjustments to make, still. The air was light and calm, and there were a few nice bumps, but I didn't want to try scratching for air under 100ft without getting to know the plane a bit more. My last flight was over 2 minutes in not-exactly-neutral air.

Is anyone planning on flying tomorrow, on grass anywhere? I'd like to fly with someone so I have some sort of benchmark to dial my plane in against.

P.S. Switching from the old Blaster giant rudder to the MoBros rudder without altering the linkage mechanics made a huge difference in my left thumb twitchies!

Nope - gotta check out the State Fair and see if I can still master the giant hot dog. Only $2 admission before 2 pm.

See you in Eloy. Hope you can time a round if you're not too busy.

I have some Poraver that I'll bring south if there is room in the MH. Maybe we can work something out. I'll be in Wickenburg.

Gary, that'd be great......I really wish Poraver would come up with some Western US distributors so the shipping wouldn't be so ridiculously expensive. When are you planning to make it back to AZ?

Talking about Digital MG servos, I found these VERY small (smaller than 285's) and light at 5.75grams, and powerful with 1.6kg of torque... and fast, at .07s. Best part is that they are only $8 each!!!
ok, so what's the catch? None that I can see.

Have you guys seen or tried these? I ordered 4 and they are REALLY small.

I have used them and own 6 of them. they are great, but out of the 8 I ordered 2 were crap out of the box. I wont use them in a dlg due to the bad ones I got but that is just me. I have a bunch of Power HD servos and really like them. I am testing a couple of these Power HD D65HB in a foamy, if I like them I will probably use them in my son's DLG for R E.

Whatever you do, dont put them in a wing! After a few throws the centering goes to crap, and there you are, digging an $8.00 servo out of a $500.00 wing!

Gary,

let's get together when the contest season is over and you're back in AZ, maybe in Surprise. I'm sure we can round up a couple of DLG Hooligans.

I'd be curious to see some of your planes, i.e. Fr3ak

I just got off the phone with George.

This Sunday, Nov. 18th, around noon, his neighbors are getting together to launch some bowling balls!

George asked me to put out an open invite to come out, throw some DLGs in the morning, then hang out and watch the bowling ball launch.

For anyone that hasn't been there, to get out to the dry lake, you need pretty good ground clearance, with a 4x4 being preferred, although Philip got his van out there in the past. If you don't have anything that fits the bill, the practice is to hang out at George's place for a bit until someone can give you a ride out.

If you need directions, you can call George at 480-330-4187. If he doesn't answer, please leave a message and he'll call you back as soon as he can.

We'll see you Sunday!

Charles,

In town now, finally. PM me about getting together.

Hlg's, hmm, might have something that still flies. Fr3AK and the Helios still recovering from un-anticipated meeting with fir trees. You know, tall green things? Consecutive throws. Can anyone top that? Well, down here, not many trees, so it would have to be cactus.

Gary

Oh, the poraver made it down, SLB-AZ

George/Tim,

thanks for the invite. Can't make it, but hope you have fun.

When I was a kid, a friend and I used to shoot arrows straight up and see who could make them hit the closest to where we were standing. Not that I'm suggesting anything ...
